Casting is a process that involves pouring liquid metal into a mold, which is then allowed to solidify to create the desired shape. First a mold is prepared in the desired shape, then metal is melted down in a furnace to liquid form and poured into the mold cavity. The liquid metal is then allowed to cool, and the mold is removed resulting in the cast part.
